In 2014, I travelled to Monrovia, Liberia, with journalist Tom Parry to document the early stages of the Ebola outbreak. As infection rates rose rapidly, Liberia’s president declared a state of emergency in an effort to contain the crisis. The epidemic ultimately claimed the lives of nearly 5,000 Liberians.
