ISIS.

Following the rise of Islamic State in the Middle East, I embedded with Kurdish Peshmerga forces alongside journalist Chris Hughes to document the initial coalition fightback at Bashiqa. Over the following months and years, we covered the fall of Mosul, the pushback against ISIS in Syria, interviewed British Islamic State fighters, and photographed the long-term impact of conflict on communities living under and recovering from extremist rule.
